Day “In my Homeland”

April 15 was entirely devoted to the 10th International Art and Graphics Contest “In My Homeland”. On this day final exhibition of the contest opened, the award of contest winners took place, as well as meetings of artists and teachers, where they shared experiences and discussed plans.

 

Traditionally the exhibition located at two sites. Accordingly, the opening of the exhibition took place in two stages. Part of the exhibition opened at noon in National center for environmental and local studies. There also was the discussion of artists and educators, organizers and members of the jury, during which the results of the competition were summarized, plans for the future were discussed, in particular, the potential new animation competition. The contest "In My Homeland" was also suggested, as well as all the activities carried out within it, to be better reported. The contest should attract more public attention to the children’s, may be even environmental, creativity, as the competition itself is very interesting phenomenon in the cultural life of the country, as well as a good platform for the exchange of experience and support of young talents.

Another part of the exhibition housed in the Art Gallery "University of Culture". The center of attention moved there in the afternoon. The event started with a children's play "The Secret of Ryaba-The-Hen" performed by an exemplary theatre-studio "Class-A" (dir. Tatiana Shilova). It should be noted that all the actors of the theatre are also children, who are in a perky and even a hooligan manner, tried to find out what is the sense of this tale, familiar to all of us from an early age. After the performance, all the visitors could see an exhibition, accompanied by music played by Olga Shirinova (flute) and Andrey Evdokimov (guitar). At 16.00 the official part began, where the director of the NGO "Green Cross Belarus” Vladimir Shevtsov said the welcome words. Then the Head of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Tatiana Evdasёva awarded the authors of works on environmental issues with special certificates and prizes. The chairman of the Minsk International Women's Club of  ambassador wives, the wife of Ambassador of India to the Republic of Belarus Anamika Bharti, noted the long cooperation of the Club with the contest organizers and expressed admiration for the works presented at the exhibition, stressing that all children on earth gifted from birth. The chairperson of the jury Leonid Gomonov and a member of the Minsk International Women's Club of ambassador wives, the wife of Georgian envoy, Catherine Khurtsidze, took part In awarding. During the award ceremony, Diplomats got medals, diplomas and gifts, which, as organizers hope, will serve for further development of their talents.

You can see the exhibition in the gallery of the National center for environmental and local studies (st. Makaenka, 8) until  May, 9 from 10.00 to 17.00 every day except Sunday, at the gallery "University of  Culture" (October Sq. 1) until  April, 25 from 11.00 to 19.00. Free admission.
